Halloween, Sisterhood & An Accident

Last night was the first Halloween I have not Trick-or-Treated in at least 12 years. I had asked Emily last week what she'd think about having a game night instead. She was all for it. I made a crock pot full of Taco soup and we played our favorite game, "Settlers of Catan." I had bought 2 small bags of chocolate bars for anyone who might come to the door but we had no callers as I forgot the porch light is burnt out. Jacob was more than willing to take care of the candy.

This morning, I went to my Bible study, "Daniel" by Beth Moore. I love Thursday mornings. We have met each week for 12 weeks. These ladies are my sweet sisters in the Lord and some of them are my dearest friends. One of my friends, Carla, has been going through a hard time and we have all walked with her. We have laughed together, cried together, prayed together, learned together and shared the Word together. We have one more class and our lessons are over. Today's lesson was extremely challenging and a call to live a life of sacrifice.

When Carla came in this morning she brought me a box. In it were several kitchen items of red and white. I had previously mentioned to her that one day I hope to have a vintage looking kitchen with lots of red accents. It was so kind of her to think of me like that.

After I took this picture, I was walking into the living room to get it from my camera. I tripped and the camera fell out of my hands. I think its broken. It didn't fall far or hard but I guess it fell enough because it won't turn on. My camera has been like a good friend to me. I've brought it virtually everywhere with me. I have taken literally thousands of pictures in the 3 years I've owned it. Fortunately my laptop has a card reader and I can get the last of my pictures off the card.

See you tomorrow for Show & Tell!!!!!!

Sorry about your camera- that really stinks. We didn't trick or treat either, mainly because it was on a Wed. night. I didn't miss it, and I don't think the girls did either. We're trying to get away from the whole Halloween idea.
