Works For Me Wednesday

Just 2 short years ago, I had 4 kids in 4 different schools. Life was a little chaotic to say the least. In an effort to try to keep on top of things, I decided we needed some sort of a "message center." A place where the kids could keep their lunch lists, school calendars, spelling lists, etc. I decided to make it the front of the fridge because obviously, everyone goes there several times a day. I went to Wal-mart and got some of these magnet/clips. They were used to hold all the important papers, and also recipes and a calendar. It solved the problem of lost spelling lists, and lunch calendars.

These days, life is far, far less hectic. I still use the fridge center. My clips still hold 1 lonely lunch calendar and spelling list.

After reading through blogs about saving money and homemaking, I decided to begin to plan my meals for the week. I always thought I had sort of done this but I realize I wasn't as organized as I thought I was. It's been such a lifesaver. Instead of going in the kitchen about 3:00 in the afternoon and trying to figure out what's for dinner, I know!! I've already got it all planned out. Can I tell you how many times we ended up with pizza or McDonalds because frankly the thought of figuring out what to make and actually making it was pretty overwhelming. Not anymore. I have added a white board to my fridge center. I write the meals for each night thus ending the daily question of "What's for dinner?" and not just from the kids...but from the big guy too!!!! I wouldn't go back to the old way again. I LOVE having this done and so does my family. It works for me!

You're right that works great. I do that too, except mine is on the inside of my guest closet door. This way I don't have to see the clutter all day.

this is a great tip. I use the inside of all my cabinets for all this paper work too so I don't have to see all of it. The grocery lists, etc, are for sure on the fridge!
