I have scrapbooked in one form or another since I was in 5th grade (about 30 years!!) My earliest ones were purchased at a dime store like Woolworths. I kept things like birthday cards, postcards from trips, school programs, special letters, wrapping paper from gifts, party decorations, newspaper clippings, school awards, and all sorts of other things. They are too high up in a closet to get down and photograph. Some of the scotch tape has lost it's stickiness, the pages have yellowed, but they are still special reminders of my childhood.
These days I scrapbook some of the same stuff but I don't use scotch tape anymore. This shelf in my bedroom holds some of my scrapbooks. It's a collection of my kids' lives and accomplishments, our life as a family, special moments, etc. I have more plans for future scrapbooks than I have time!!
While I was photographing some of my pages, our power went out. So I'm only showing some pages from 2 books tonight. Sometime in the future I'll show more.
These two pages are from an album of my favorite pictures. A friend came & took pictures of my daughters & neices in victorian clothing. My sister just happened to have a roll of black & white film. I LOVED how
these pictures came out!
These remaining pages are from an album I made for Josh for Christmas 2 years ago. It's pretty much everything he did in high school. This is one big album!!!! It came out incredible, though. He didn't want to risk keeping it in the dorms so I get to keep it here for a few more years.
The Attic

The attic was the last place left with our things. Because of the fire
and the ceilings falling, they were unable to get to it safely until
everything ...

I like scrapbooking too.
Most of the stuff I do is
related to family history.
I also enjoyed your lunch
box post, fun to remember!
You've done a wonderful job preserving all your keepsakes. The black and white photos are special!
AAHHH Scrapbooking! Love it, don't do it often enough! The Victorian photos were such a creative idea. I enlarged the photos and thought it so clever that the girls even had time appropriate toys in hand!
I'm flabbergasted!! What a delightful Show n Tell!!!! Amazing work you've done. Awesome, just awesome.
[and the mention of Woolworths? Wow. Does that store age us or what? rofl]
Take care...hope you have a minute or two to drop by my show n tell!! I'd love to have you visit with me. Today I have something I received, from a special blogging friend!! Come join me?
Happy weekend.
How very special!

Those are truly wonderful!! It must have taken a lot of time for that last one...what a great gift!
You did a great job. I want to scrap all my pictures..sigh..someday.
Rebecca,
I think you invented scrap booking! Those pictures are lovely! :)
Thank you for sharing.

As a fellow scrapper, I love the Victorian, B& W photos! I can't wait until I have more time (and space) to get more done on my albums! I have made special albums for my grand-daghters on their first birthday and for other special occasions like Road Trips with Gigi (that's me)

I love your scrapbooks. You did such a good job. I wish I had kept mine. I did a crude one as a teenager, crude meaning, I used a spiral notebook and masking tape. It was not neat pretty. I got rid of it because I realized how inferior I felt at that age, and it came across in the book. It brought back feelings of doubt and low self esteem, that was long ago taken care of by the Lord. I'm thankful for that. My newest scrap books are upbeat and reflect my faith in the Lord. Yours are lovely. Thank you for sharing them.

I like your scrapbooks. The black and white victorian photos were my favorite. I'm sure Josh is so impressed with the one you made for him, I sure am. I scrapbook and I still have mine from high school. It is a great way to keep your memories. We get my son's scrapbook out every year on his birthday. He is eleven so I'm sure soon he'll be saying "no Way" but I know he will appreciate them later.
What BEAUTIFUL pages you create. I am so far behind on my scrapbooking. It's one of the projects I'm giving priority to this year.
Your scrapbooks are great, wonderful books filled with memories. I have boxes of saved things to do...you've inspired me to get busy. Linda
What nice pages. Wish we could scrap together- I always seem to get more done with someone else. Remember that scrapbook weekend we had at mom's house when she was in Nebraska? That was fun. I have one page started in Sam's- my goal was to get it done before Ben's birth- HA! Don't know how I'll ever manage to get it done now.
You are so blessed to have all those scrapbooks. I had many from my youth until they were lost in a shipping incident. I remember how the scotch tape dried up and the adhesive on it was kind of sandy-feeling.

What great memories! I am sure you will cherish them always. Thanks for sharing!
