Sunday Praise

This is my desire to honor You
Lord, with all my heart I worship You.
All I have within me, I give You praise
All that I adore is in You.

Lord, I give You my heart, I give You my soul
I live for You alone
Every breath that I take, every moment I'm awake
Lord, have Your way in me!

Accidents Will Happen...

I was lying on the couch watching the much anticipated season premiere of one of my favorite shows. All of a sudden, my small curio cabinet that contains glass shelves and Boyd's collectibles fell over on me!!!! I'm not sure what all happened but I think it involved 1 dog and 1 cat. I remained extremely calm and began the hour-long process of using gorilla glue & painter's tape to put my little collectibles back together again. Unfortunately I'm fairly used to this as this has happened before. Having 4 kids has fine-tuned my art of glue and tape. I have learned, however, through the years that yes, accidents will happen. And, even though these items are precious to me, they are, in fact, just that...items. It's not worth a ruined day or evening. It was also a good teaching moment for the 2 kids who were observing me at the time because yes, you never know who is watching....or listening!!!!!!

Headaches & Tuesday

I went to bed with a headache last night. Usually going to bed takes care of headaches but not this one. I woke up with a migraine. It took 3 aspirins, another hour of rest/sleep, and an extremely hot shower to get it down to a dull throb.
Later today I came across this and my headache/problem seems small in comparison. Please pause and say a prayer for this family who live their lives to share the gospel of Christ.

I read a BEAUTIFUL post about faith over at Rocks in my Dryer this morning. She used a beautiful yet simple analogy. I couldn't state my faith any better than she has today. Venture over and take a quick read...it's worth it. God, thank you for your unlimitless love. Thank you that you see the big picture of my life!!!!

Sunday Praise

I have a Maker, He formed my heart
Before even time began, my life was in His hands.
He knows my name, He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls and hears me when I call.
I have a Father, He calls me His own
He'll never leave me no matter where I go.
He knows my name, He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls and hears me when I call.

We just got back home from a wedding of a couple in the church. I first met this girl when she was in 8th grade. Their family are some of our very best friends and it was such an honor to celebrate this occasion with them. As usual, we saw people we haven't seen in a while. It was good to see most of them but there are a few...well, let's just leave some things unsaid!!! :-) The DJ for this particular wedding did what he called an "Anniversary Dance." All married couples start out dancing and leave the floors as years married are called out. After 22 years, Cliff and I were in the next to last group on the floor. I feel quite proud that we have been married this long. It takes effort and to be honest, some days it take just pure work!!!
As with most Saturday nights, I still have a few things left to do for church tomorrow. (I put together the powerpoint presentations for the services) So with that being said, I've got to get to work so I can get to bed so I can get up on time.

Here We Are...

Here's the Family. My and my husband, Cliff have been married 22 years. My oldest son, Joshua is 21 and away at college. Next is my daughter, Amy age 19. She is in her 2nd year of community college. My 3rd child is Jacob. He is 14 and is a freshman in our local High School. My youngest is Emily just turned 12 on September 11. She is in the 6th grade.

We've had a crazy week this week. An unexpected medical situation arose with Josh and Cliff had to pick him up from school which is almost 3 hours away and bring him home for a doctor's appointment. Glad to say that he's (Josh) doing much better.

We've been doing the Beth Moore Bible Study on Daniel on Thursday mornings at church. We are going into our 5th week. I am LOVING this study. The first 6 session are on living lives of integrity. It has really made me stop and think about choices I am making...what am I watching, reading, allowing into my home, etc. Going deep in God's Word is an adventure and such a privilege for me. And on top of that, to be able to meet each week with women of like faith and share our lives and share what we have learned in our study through the week, well, can I just say how blessed I feel? These are my sisters in the Lord. This past week we laughed and cried and laughed and prayed together. How blessed we are to live in a country where we can do this. How blessed I am that my job allows me time to do this. Do you get where my head and heart are at tonight as I write this?? Yep, I feelin BLESSED!!!

Just Starting

I am new to the blogging world having just connected to the internet at home 3 weeks ago. I have been inspired by the stories I read each day in other's blogs and have decided to give it a try myself!

I chose the name "Rebecca's Walk" because that seems to be my approach to life right now. I am a "big picture" type of person. That can be a good/bad thing. At work, it's good. But personally it can make me feel extremely overwhelmed when things begin to pile up. I've decided to take things one step at a time. To stop running, slow down and face things in smaller segments. For example, my house needs a HUGE fall cleaning. (It usually does after the kids have been home all summer). I've only been able to see the WHOLE house!! I've put it off until I've felt I had time to clean the entire house. Finally, I decided to break it down into small jobs...things I can do in 15-20 minute segments. WOW! Do I feel better!! I just released myself from HUGE amounts of stress and anxiety. And guess what? My house is getting clean!!!

I figured since this approach has worked so well in the cleaning dept., it might work well for other areas of my life....like WEIGHT!! I need to lose some (ok, alot). I'm going to start my making some small changes like: double checking my hunger(aka. why am I eating?), cutting down portion sizes, and cutting out foods that have absolutely no nutritional value.

Maybe this is why God says to "Walk with Him" as opposed to "Run with Him."

I will fill in info. about my life in the days ahead. I will tell you that we are in my favorite time of year. Autumn has always been a time of refreshment for me!

Thanks for reading today and may your day be blessed!
