Prayer

Never underestimate the power of prayer!
I believe in that power so much, I meet with a group of women each Thursday morning with no other agenda than to share our lives and to pray.

Personally, we had an answer to prayer this week regarding my dad's health. He's been having physical battles for at least 6 months and it was becoming more noticeable the toll it was taking on him not only physically but also mentally and emotionally. He had some tests this past week and although his situation is pretty bad, it is treatable and will require no hospitalization or surgery. I told him last Sunday that whatever the diagnosis was, we would all deal with it. Not only as a family but as a church body as well.

One of the women in our group is Baby Gabrielle's grandma, Carla. I posted Gabrielle's story here. I cannot tell you how many times Carla has said that knowing that people are upholding them in prayer is what gets them through.

Over these past few weeks, God has once again affirmed in my heart that He is still GOD! I have seen his power more this past year than any other time in my life. Maybe it's my age, maybe it is where I am in my walk with him....probably its a combination of both. I do know, however, that when you pray...when you enter into fervent intercessory prayer, God does something to you. I don't know how it works but because of this prayer group, I have been witness to lives that are radically different than they were a year ago. And not just the lives of the women but their families as well.

I hope in some ways this can be an encouragement to you not to give up! God hears our prayers. He will answer them in His time and in His way. I don't always like or understand the answers but when He allows certain things to come full circle, I am once again reminded that His ways are always best.

Isaiah 55:8 (The Message)

8-11"I don't think the way you think.
The way you work isn't the way I work."
God's Decree.
"For as the sky soars high above earth,
so the way I work surpasses the way you work,
and the way I think is beyond the way you think.
